T O P I C R E V I E WjasonelamA few weeks ago, we had a discussion about the Komarov photo that was found online. After viewing this photo, I decided to see what else was on the website. It is actually interesting! They have many photos of cosmonauts from the 1960's, including some that seem like ones you would have found in a Soviet version of LIFE magazine. To me it was very interesting to see the side of the Soviet program few ever got to see in books; that just like their American counterparts, they had lives outside the space race. For example, pictures of them at home with their families, visiting children in the hospital, etc. ColinBurgessCouldn't help but notice on this site that in the famous photo of Gagarin on the transfer bus, the second backup cosmonaut standing right behind him, Nelyubov, has been mostly (and poorly) obliterated from the image. Secrecy still rules! Colin
